March AEC firm rankings, lists, awards and PR opportunities

March 13, 2024

Mid-March can be a time when luck is top of mind.

And while we love a found penny and the random four-leaf clover, we see time and again how architecture, engineering and construction firms never luck into coverage. Instead, they proactively seek out opportunities, and we have the best ones for you this month:

  • Zweig Group’s 2024 Rising Stars in the AEC industry “recognizes younger professionals whose exceptional technical capability, leadership ability, effective teaching or research, or public service has benefited the design professions, their employers, project owners, and society.” whew. What a mouthful. All to say, if there is someone 40 or younger whose caliber work deserves to be recognized, you have until March 22 to nominate them.
  • If you’re looking to spruce up your speaking resume, A/E/C THRIVE is accepting speaker proposals through March 31. Their event will be held in Austin from September 25-27.
  • Should you be looking to fill your calendar with travel, ULI’s Spring Conference is coming in hot. Held in New York from April 9-11, this event connects “senior real estate professionals, from all corners of the industry.” They welcome everyone from commercial and nonprofit professionals to architects and engineers.
  • BD+C’s Giants 400 Report is accepting submissions through May 10. Submission includes completing BD+C’s spreadsheet to provide information on projects from 2023.
  • DBIA’s 2023 Project/Team Awards is now accepting nominations. This award aims to showcase a variety of projects nationwide. If you want to show off a particular project this year, submit before the May 31 deadline.
  • Don’t forget about these holidays to incorporate in your social media calendar next month:
    • April: World Landscape Architecture Month
    • April 1: April Fools’ Day (Many a company have achieved internet fame for the wrong reason on April Fools’ Day; don’t be one of them! To paraphrase Forbes, if your firm’s goal is to establish trust and authority, a corporate April Fools’ stunt is not the chord to strike.)
    • April 15-19: National Work Zone Awareness Week
    • April 22: Earth Day (A wonderful opportunity to highlight any sustainability projects or efforts your firm has undertaken)
    • April 24: National Administrative Professionals Day
